News from OPC September 2026

1.Pavement at War Memorial

The  work due to be undertaken on the pavement adjacent to The War Memorial on Ockham Lane will not be undertaken until November 2026.

2. Flooding

The next meeting of the Flood Forum will take place later in September. If any residents want to flag any concerns they have please let us know via our Clerk: clerk@ockhamparishcouncil.gov.uk

3. Thames Water Discharge of waste

Thames water has been discharging waste into a manhole in Ockham Lane, in close proximity to dwellings. OPC have requested that Thames Water use a different manhole away from where people live. They have said they will look into it.

Additionally we have requested that the drivers of the tankers are more aware when driving along the narrow lanes of the Conservation area and when passing resident’s homes. If anyone wishes to contact Thames Water with their comments, please contact them here

It would be useful if you could share any reference number you are given with our clerk so we can collate these to present them collectively to Thames Water.

4. New Clerk

OPC continue to seek a new Parish Clerk. For further information or to express interest, please contact our Clerk: clerk@ockhamparishcouncil.gov.uk

5. Sonjia Moran

We have received the resignation of Sonjia Moran from the Parish Council. We wish to thank her for her hard work and valued contributions.

6. Useful contact information for GBC and SCC services

It has come to our attention that there have been a number of animals being killed on local roads. Please, if you are aware of any incident, contact GBC for the disposal of dead animals.

Contact SCC to raise concerns about vegetation that is overhanging pavements.

Please contact our clerk, Alyson, with any queries: clerk@ockhamparishcouncil.gov.uk
